Converting the garage into a studio.
The Garage is to the Right of the side of the House |
Originally there was a one room building built behind and to the side of the main house. It had doors to the front yard and to the back yard and was heated with a wood burning stove.
From the Back:
The building on the left was the little house. In the 1940s the utility room was built across the back of the house connecting the little house to the main house. |
The house was jacked up and wood was replaced |
Getting Painted |
From the Front:
The old garage door and carport |
Adding a new door and using the window we removed from the kitchen |
Putting on siding |
Changing the roof to prevent further leaks |
The Inside:
Mike reinforcing the walls |
New support beams were adding to support the roof |
Mike is building a subfloor over the dirt floor |
Cutting wood planks for the floor |
The finished room |
We decided to keep the old milk painted walls and the window that used to open into the maid's room |
We painted the beams and walls and put a sealant on the floors |
